Assistant:

Social Media Marketing & Communications

Our ideal candidate:

As the Assistant in Social Media Marketing and Communications you will be at the heart of our thriving and fascinating business activities. You will be supporting our team in running the business smoothly and exploring new directions. You enjoy working in a small team and supporting it with the many tasks that come along but you are also ambitious to work on your dedicated projects to bring them successfully ahead.

The Assistant position is perfect for you if you are a highly motivated person who loves juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities. You are a very well organised and efficient team player and are familiar with planning time and tasks for weeks ahead.

You enjoy communicating with customers and members of our academic communities, in particular in written form. You have excellent writing skills and know how to use language to positively engage with others and to convey our mission and messages to our customers. Preferably, you are a native English speaker.

You have great interest and maybe even experience in social media marketing. You are a well-versed user of social media and you know tips and tricks for successfully communicating on various social media platforms. You are keen on implementing strategies to increase our following on these.

As we work for members of universities and academic institutions, you will be in touch with many members of this world ranging from Master and PhD students to Professors and institute coordinators. You have in-depth knowledge of how the academic environment works and you enjoy interacting with academics.

We’d prefer you having a degree in communications, media, business studies, or English. But most important is that you are a great communicator, and enthusiastic about our mission to help young academics around the world acquire the core complementary skills they need to succeed. That said, we’re open to applicants with other backgrounds or experiences, who are equipped with an unbroken enthusiasm for social media, are highly organised and have a great ability to communicate.

Duties and responsibilities:

With this Assistant position, your main role is to support us with our social-media marketing activities. You will maintain our social-media representations and help us engage with our community of young researchers who follow or are interested in our activities. Depending on your expertise and fulfilment of the role, we’re ready to let you take over more responsibility: You’ll manage your own projects to further develop our presence on social media platforms.

Your second role is to organise our in-house courses and assist with the launch of our upcoming online courses. With the in-house course organisation, you will work independently, but don’t worry, you’ll work with our proven and tested work-flows. In this position, we need you to efficiently communicate with course-coordinators at universities and directly with our clients, young international researchers. With our company’s focus increasingly shifting towards the online world, you will also support us in setting up and running our future online courses.

Our team and attitude:

In our small but mighty team each hand counts, and you should be willing to tackle challenges as they come, including your share of upcoming duties/projects. If we realise something needs to be done, we’ll do it. You should be a versatile person who recognises when something needs to be done and take action.

If you’re looking for an unconventional, creative, and stimulating workplace – we’re the right one for you. We’re passionate about our company goals, always looking to expand our international reach, and above all, eager to deliver the very best quality help for our clients, a community of young and international researchers who want to excel their academic careers.

We want to change the lives of young academics and we want you to be a part of this mission. We never stop learning, and actively seek opportunities to improve our work, our company, and our products. As a business moving towards the online world, we do things differently and we need you to be adaptable and able to work independently most of the time.

Terms & perks:

This is a half-time (20h) position at our office in Munich/Planegg, Germany.

We offer you a permanent contract after a 6-months probation

You’ll get 24 days paid holidays/year, plus you’ll never work on your birthday!

Good health insurance and social security package as per German law.
