Leading a Team
Stimulate joyous and fruitful cooperation — a 1-day workshop for team leaders, delivered on-site or live online for your institution.
Why join this workshop?
Good cooperation, trust, and a positive work environment are what allow teams to be creative, productive, and adaptable. As a team leader, you have a decisive influence on how people work together — and that shapes what your team can achieve.
Friction is natural in any team, but left unaddressed it becomes costly, draining energy into worry, gossip, and drama instead of joint work. This workshop helps leaders recognise what’s working well, spot early friction, and lead their team toward calmer, more fruitful cooperation.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
Participants learn how to
- use structure to make a thesis, paper, chapter, or manuscript more manageable
- develop a first structure skeleton for their own writing project
- identify the main bottleneck currently making writing difficult
- select a practical response strategy for that bottleneck
- create a realistic writing process plan for the coming weeks or months
WHAT PARTICIPANTS TAKE AWAY
Participants leave the workshop with three concrete outputs:
- A clear picture of their own communication style — and its effect on how the team cooperates
- A view of their team’s frictions as opportunities — not threats to avoid
- New communication patterns — to lead the team toward more joyous, fruitful collaboration
Harmonious cooperation isn’t the absence of friction — it’s what you build once you know how to handle it.
What topics do we cover?
Part 1 – Understand Your Communication. How you currently communicate with your team, and how it shapes cooperation.
Part 2 – Spot the Friction. Where misunderstandings and conflicts tend to arise, and why.
Part 3 – Build New Patterns. Concrete ways to communicate and lead that move your team toward drama-free cooperation.
How is it taught?
The workshop is playful, light-hearted, and highly interactive, combining group exercises, individual reflection, and group discussion. Leaders reflect on their own communication and team dynamics throughout, working with real situations from their own team.
WHO BENEFITS MOST?
Delivered on-site or live online directly for your institution, for one intact team at a time, it works best for a group who share a similar leadership challenge:
- Group leaders and PIs who want to strengthen how their team communicates and collaborates
- Professors leading their own research group or staff who want a calmer, more joyous working atmosphere
- Heads of department or institute responsible for the culture across several teams
- Universities and research organisations investing in leadership development for their PIs and group leaders
